Dry skin vs dehydrated skin.

Updated: Jun 12, 2019

They seem alike but are different in many ways 💦💦💦 A lot of us mistake dehydrated skin for dry skin—but dehydrated skin is a condition whereas dry skin is a skin type.

When your skin becomes dehydrated, the symptoms can be similar to the skin issues you mislabel as dry skin, oily skin, acne-prone skin, etc. You may even notice that your skin experiences a combination of these issues. What no one is talking about is that most skin issues are actually dehydrated skin in disguise. When your skin becomes dehydrated and can’t replenish moisture, it will produce more oil to make up for the lack of water content in the skin. This results in more breakouts, itchy and irritated skin, dry patches, fine lines, and wrinkles.
